In unit 9, I learnt the important of planning. Lesson planning is very important for inexperienced and experienced teachers alike. There are many forms of lesson plans, such as write notes, a working document and a record. And I also learnt the basic principles of lesson planning are: keep it simple, do not try to script the lesson, structure it and maintain the same structure, write the anticipated time for each activity in the margin, check for balance of skills and keep it flexible and open to adaptation.Unit 10 featured two videos that presented two different classroom atmospheres but with the same teacher, one in which students participated and another in which students were quiet, confused, and intimidated. This lesson showed that the attitude of the teacher and the rapport he or she establishes with the students can have a profound effect on the effectiveness of the lesson, on the students' level of comfort, on the willingness of the students to participate, and on the general comprehension of the students.
