When teaching a new language, vocabulary, grammar and their functions have to be considered. Teaching mostly grammar and vocabulary uses mainly the straight arrow or ESA approach, while using functions in a lesson utilizes mainly the boomerang to patchwork ESA approaches. Examples or language function includes inviting, agreeing, disagreeing, and making suggestions and refusals. It also includes the type of language that is being used, whether it be formal or informal languageThis second part of the global approach of the study of the language was needed and meaningful. Like the previous unit we learned about the different aspects of teaching and it gives us inspiration and a broad knowledge about how to handle a classroom. It is worthwhile to take notes about the different unit, it inspires me in various ways. Although we may already know those games and tricks, bringing a theoretical view about it helps understanding the underlying purpose of it.
