This unit provides knowledge and recommendations for effective teaching approaches to five specialized groups of learners including beginners, individuals (1:1), young learners (children), business people learning English, and the monolingual VS multilingual class. The unique characteristics of each of these groups require special considerations in order to adapt your approach to provide effective learning. Beginner learners can be of any age. There is a common methodology with teaching techniques and motivational tips useful for any beginner. Teaching the young learner is of particular interest to me thus I found this section especially interesting. Creating a welcoming and friendly learning environment, understanding the do's and don'ts for lesson planing, considering class discipline and management with related do's and don'ts, are essential for meeting the needs of young learners.
