This unit covers what to expect when undertaking my first lesson as a TEFL teacher. It covers what 'plan' to have for the lesson to get it successfully underway and what to potentially expect. The unit goes into a little more detail about possible problems that may arise in the first class, from students reluctant to participate, different level students in the same group through to a large class size and students using their L1, and how to best deal with these factors. This unit is a great way to finish the unit course since I feel it gives me some tools to help get through my first lesson. This first lesson is something I have thought a lot about throughout the course and the natural uncertainty of whether I am ready or not. However with the tools this unit gives to deal with the different obstacles that may arise in my first lesson, it has given me renewed confidence and enthusiasm.
