This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Planning is a part and parcel of every single lesson. Without it, a teacher won`t be able to effectively manage the class/lesson, which, in its turn, will significantly reduce the effectiveness of the latter. Lesson planning enables the teacher to prepare all the necessary materials that may come in handy in the classroom. It also helps predict problems students might face while studying the new information and arrange the lesson in such a way that it is both informative and exciting for the students. In this unit we learned the importance of using eye contact, gestures, voice, and student names within our class management. We learned the potential pros and cons of managing our class as whole groups, small groups, individuals, and pairs. And how to properly place ourselves amongst the students and how to place our students within the classroom. As well as when teacher standing, sitting, and monitoring is most helpful. All methods discussed were presented to help achieve student and teacher success.
