From the videos it became very clear that the teacher's attitude is very important to the success of the lesson. It is also important to adapt to the needs of the student. In the first video it was clear that the students were very confused and instead of encouraging the students, the teacher made them feel self conscious. To make lessons effective, you have to create a fun environment in with the students will feel comfortable enough to participate.From Unit 12 I mainly learned about speaking activities, although the unit did also cover writing activities. I had not known how to classify controlled activities, guided activities, and creative communication. To me it seems that in order to follow ESA it would be best to begin with a controlled activity for the engage phase, then use a guided activity during the study phase, and finally use a creative communication activity during the activate phase.
