Overall this unit looked at a wide range of issues dealing with teaching and learning. The unit featured the various roles of a teacher, the different types of students, the types of classes a Business English teacher may encounter, teaching methods and language skills students will need to develop.
From this unit, I learnt about the various roles teacher play, such as instructor, counselor, policeman, etc, just to name a few. And the different types of students I will encounter.This lesson helped me understand the importance of how i conduct myself in class and how I treat my students. Being loud to make myself heard isn't the answer when dealing with a difficult situation. In addition finding ways to give my students enough talk time is important as well learning each students name so that I will be able to call upon each student throughout the teaching year and give each student the opportunity for talk time so that they are more involved in the class.
