This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:

When teaching an existing group, the students will likely be more comfortable because they already know each other. The teacher should avoid the course book on the first day and instead focus on: establishing rapport, gathering student information/needs/aspirations, and the English level of each class member. Pass the ball is a suitable activity for establishing rapport whereas drilling is not. Games work well for warmer activities. Some students may struggle more than others and it is never okay to let those students fall behind. This lesson felt really long and difficult in comparison to every other lesson so far. Also it asked questions which required further research outside of the course material. For example the definition of the 'penultimate syllable' was not mentioned anywhere I could see. Also I'm not so sure about the emphasis it put on learning the different parts of the mouth and throat as well as phonetic script, which the course itself advises against using with students. As a suggestion I might merge the last two lessons, and split this one.
