There are many ways to check the students' language level. They are tutorials, evaluation by the students, tests.
Tests are divided into placement tests, usually made for placement of new students according to their level. Progress test are necessary to assess knowledge learnt. Diagnostic tests bare usually made at tge beginning of the course to see what students already know. Practice tests help students to prepare for some external examinations. General external exams include TOEFL,IELTS, TOEIC. Cambridge assessment cover KET, PER, FCE, CAE,CPE.In unit sixteen I learned about conditionals and reported speech. This covered five conditionals which are sentences that contains 'if' and it reviewed over each type of conditional. This unit also covered reported speech and direct speech. This taught me how to identify reported speech and direct speech. Also how the tenses in a direct speech changes when it is in the reported speech form. Teaching ideas were also given and this will allow me to better teach my students on the five conditionals and reported speech section of the English language.
