This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit goes over teaching special groups. When learning about this unit it goes over different groups of people that you might encounter. One group that we went over is teaching children and how they are most likely in that class because they had to be. So in order to make it interesting there is a lot of games to keep the children motivated to learn a language. Another group is business which usually vary in age from 20 to older and they must do this for a job or etc and how to make a need advice to grab the information they need to learn/want.This unit was very detailed and seems to be important because it discusses real life situations that one can experience as a teacher. I managed to learn about different theories. I also learnt that the ESA is the approach used for this course. I also learnt of the importance of techniques such as elicitation which is very important as it gets learners to respond.. This unit also taught me different types of elicitation techniques. I also learnt of the different ESA techniques and that the ESA should always start with Engage and end with activate.
