Unit 9 covers Lesson Planning. I learned the important functions of lesson planning and what should be included in a lesson plan. Writing down a lesson plan will act as a reference point while teaching, as well as a record of what the class has accomplished. I learned that a lesson plan should flexibly structure the class for the day. This includes learner objectives, personal aims, language points, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedure, phase, timing, and interaction. It may also include the class level, number of students, and date/time.In this unit about Teaching Productive skills I have learned that all skills are equally important to teach. Many people may say that speaking is the most important skill but I do not agree because without listening you would not be able to listen to directions and get to a place there; without writing, the student may no be able to hand in a required essay that the university is asking for and reading is also important because someone can read for pleasure or for a purpose like: school, news, etc. Therefore, all four skills are important to teach.
