Working through the rules and understanding the conditionals and reported speech I realized in some cases it might be more helpful to implement drill exercises where students have concrete opportunities to practice the grammar. Taking the time to truly understand each rule is key, but I found it confusing to differentiate between the correct forms of reported speech. As a result, I believe a variety of learning experience should be used to teach more difficult concepts such as the language's grammar so the rules can be learned and deeply understood.It's very interesting to see the comparison between authentic materials vs. created materials. Both of them have their advantages and disadvantages depending on the students' needs. Teachers should be flexible when using the course materials to aid their teaching, and able to provide supplement materials when needed. I also learned about how to choose the appropriate course book for the class. A good course book should be attractive with interesting topics, well-balanced between study and activation and well-suited with the students' English levels.
