In this unit, I have learnt about common problem situations in a classroom. Some of those include first lessons when teaching new and existing groups and types of activities to use. The teacher will try to establish rapport, find out about the students and their needs/aspirations with English, and find out the English level of each student. Warmers are usually short, fun, communicative activities to get students motivated and using English. They can include hangman, dictionary, memory games and tongue twisters. Also, one of the biggest problems is having students of different levels in the classroom. The teacher can, in this case, use different materials, or same materials with different tasks, do nothing or pair stronger students with weaker ones. Other problems include teaching large classes, students using their native language, reluctant students and difficulties with listening texts.
