There are many different teaching aids that can be used to make teaching more interesting. Hearing and seeing the language at the same time would make the lesson more effective and help the students remember. Students learn better by having a visual explanation. By using visual aids the students are more concentrated on understanding the pronunciation and putting the scenery together with the dialogue.
Resources often found in classes to help with visual teaching:
1. Visual aids - real objects, pictures or photos
2. Worksheets
3. Black board
4. Interactive whiteboard
5. Overhead projector
6. Cassettes/DVDs and videos
7. CD - player
8. Computer
9. Dictionary
10. Video camera
As always it is important to have a well-organized lesson. Eventhough equipment and teaching aids can be very effective for teaching, wrong and unplanned use can have a negative effect on the lesson and the students.
