This lesson goes over ways to set up a classroom depending on size, available materials/furniture (desks, chairs and board) and lesson plans. This unit also went over conduct for the teacher and students. Things like how to write on the board, how to work with individual students and how to discipline problem behavior (in a general way). I like the tip on trying to use humor to defuse a situation. I found the information on grouping students to be valuable, as it addressed new information to me personally. Working in a classroom or learning center has a different flow, and when teaching a lesson it is important to look at the positives and negatives of the activity (whole class, pair work or individuals). I think I will be more willing to try new classroom activities now that I understand the different benefits from each, rather than just discovering what works through trail and error.
