The overview of this unit had to do with managing classes. It discussed the importance of classroom discipline, structure, teacher's responsibilities as well as building rapport with students. One of the interesting topics that I benefited from was the section about teacher's positions for each particular activity. This is beneficial in order to maintain a positive classroom environment, effective learning and a standard set for students within the classroom setting. Secondly, the topic of balance between TTT and STT is always important to emphasize and practice as a teacher. As the text stated, TTT has a useful role but should remain minimal. Lastly, it was interesting to read that an instructor should use simple (at or below) language level of their students. It is easy as a teacher to speak over their understanding and it was an excellent reminder of the important of keeping it simple.
