This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
These videos were very interesting. They are almost extreme opposites in terms of their effectiveness. I would like to say I have never encountered another teacher who had an attitude like the one shown in the first video, but I have both been taught by teachers like that and worked with teachers like that in my past.
I think the second lesson does a great job of showing the proper attitude to have when conducting a class. I especially like how at the end when some students used real animals instead of imaginary animals the teacher did not make a big deal of it. He just let them answer normally and continued on. The fact that the animals were real or imaginary did not hinder the students ability to learn or produce the target language, so the teacher did not make a big deal about it and none of the students were made to feel bad for misunderstanding the instructions of the activity.
