This section features theories, methods and techniques of teaching. In the unit, the most common methodologies and techniques are briefly described, how the techniques are applied, and which advantages and/or disadvantages they have.
Jeremy Harmer’s methodology which consists of three phases, i.e. Engage-Study-Activate(ESA) is what this course is focused upon. The lesson always starts with the 'Engage' phase and ends with the 'Activate' phase. The importance of elicitation can not be stressed enough and practical tips of how to achieve it are given.
