This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I have learnt from this unit that there are basic parts of grammar which are called parts of speech. Each part of speech has a certain function within a sentence. There are the following parts of speech:
- nouns (they name people, animals, palces, things, etc.);
- adjectives (they are used to describe nouns such as people and things);
- articles (they can be definite, indefinite or zero);
- verbs (they can be used to describe an action, state, etc.);
- adverbs (they add meaning or information to the action, quality or state denoted by a verb);
- pronouns (they can function as nouns within a sentence);
- prepositions (they show the relationship between a noun or a pronoun and some other word in the sentence);
- conjunctions (they link or join words in a sentence);
- gerund (-ing form of a verb which is used as a noun);
- infinitive (it is a base form of a verb preceded with particle \"to\").
