This unit gave me a clear understanding of the very essence of teaching. Some of the topics discussed seem obvious at first but because presented as a concept they allow to see the direction in which a teacher should aim to grow from the start of their career. It made me realize how important are the people skills as well as listening skills, the ability to motivate students and grow their confidence. However, I'd personally add few other traits of a good teacher. Such as flexibility, also can be named as intuition. I think it is a very important trait to have because it allows the teacher to \"feel the room\" and adjust accordingly if something goes not as planned, for example, if there is a resistance from certain students to the material or subject or if they simply are in a bad mode this day.
Overall I benefited from this unit and feel more confident about myself as a future ESL teacher.
