This unit covers the basics of managing a classroom. The unit introduction clarifies that not all teachers are outgoing and extroverted and that some are more laid back. This basic information is conveyed throughout by showing how teachers can manage the classroom in different ways. The unit continues to describe how physical appearance and gesture is important to convey to students alongside how the classroom is arranged for students grouping and seating. The unit also clarifies the time and place for student and teacher talk time and how they are conveyed through board work by the teacher and group work amongst the students for example. The unit follows by giving a basic lay out of how to most efficiently deliver instructions while also building a healthy student to teacher rapport. The unit concludes with delivering discipline to students, when it is necessary, and how it is best enforced.
