This unit covers conditionals and reported speech. I learned that conditionals are sentences that contain \"if\" or \"when\" and refer to past, present or future possibilities. There are five main conditionals. They are: zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional and mixed conditional. A common issues students may have is seeing the usage difference in first and second conditionals. A few teaching ideas for conditionals were also given in this unit. They include chain conditionals and split sentences, among others. Split sentences is an exercise in which a teacher would take conditional sentences, break them up in half and have the students match the parts together to form correct conditionals. Reported and direct speech are also covered in this unit as well as teaching ideas for those which included intermediaries, reporting verbs and media interviews.
