This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit has taught me quite alot. The main focus for this unit has been the ESA methodology. It has given me knowledge on how to organise a lesson. I have learnt that every lesson must begin with Engage phase. This is where the teacher puts the students in the preparation mood of the lesson coming ahead in Study phase. At this stage you want to make sure that every student speaks English.
Then there is the Study phase. Here you want the student to learn new language co ncepts. Students are taught, given exercises to find out how much they have learnt and feedback is given.
Finally the Activate phase. Here you encourage students to use the language as freely as they can. The teacher's interruption is not needed as it might interfer with the students' creativity.
In conclusion, i have come to realise that once a teacher masters and follows the ESA methodology, you cannot fail to handle any class.
