This unit talks about productive skills of speaking and writing. After learning the whole unit, I learnt about for controlled activity and guided activity, languages should be controlled by teachers. Even though accuracy and fluency are equally important, during study phase teachers should focus more on accuracy and for engage phase and activate phase giving students more freedom of speaking as fluent as they can are more important. Also working as an English teacher I do feel trying to make the class atmosphere comfortable to talk is quite important as many young children are too shy to express even they know how to pronounce the word or answer. Writing skill is the most difficult part to teach especially with young students as they are lack of enough words and expressions accumulation. Usually for beginners I seldom correct their spelling as it might discourage their enthusiasm for writing.
