This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit I learned about what it takes to be a good teacher. It doesn't depend on just one thing. You need to know a lot about the subject, so students feel like they can really learn something and can ask every question that comes to mind. Other than that, it is very important to be patient and kind, being able to motivate students and making sure there's a safe learning environment. In the end, I think the most important part about teaching is caring about your students and their learning progress.
I've also learned about 'good' learners and the different challenges between young learners and adults. Every age group brings challenges on different levels: motivation, knowledge and concentration are just a few examples. I think it will be interesting to take on those challenges and make your lessons as fun as possible but in a way that the students will benefit most from it and learn a lot.
