This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, I had the opportunity to review the underlying grammatical functions and classifications of: simple, continuous, perfect and compound usages of past tense in English. Beyond the mechanics of the past tense, the PDF provided also re-introduced to me to common mistakes that students can make when first learning the mechanics of this tense. Going forward, I believe that I will frequently reference the PDF from this lesson plan as my future students will likely fall prey to common mistakes of consistency and confusion when employing the use of past tense across multiple paragraphs. Though paragraphs within longer essays were not explicitly discussed in the PDF, the basic mechanics of the past tense help any English learner from distinguishing between the differences between the varying forms of past tense within the English language, and their subsequent compatibility with each other.
