Planning lessons is the main issue of this unit. it examines a number of important functions of writing lesson plans which include: purpose for planning the lesson, considering a working document and a record.
It also examines how a lesson plan should be written down, looks at the basic principles of lesson planning such as keeping it simple, never try to script the lesson, structure it, maintain the same structure and being organize which greatly contributes to the smooth running of the lesson.
This unit further explains some elements in order to better plan a lesson which are : learner objectives, personal aims, language point, teaching aids, Anticipated problems, procedure, phase, timing, interaction, class level, number of students, date and time, teachers and observers. As such a good lesson plan should contain these elements. This unit has added more on my skills of drawing lesson plans.
