This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit I learned about the different types of exams used in the classroom and outside (external exams) and the role they play in the learning and mastering of English. Placement exams are usually done by student's before enrolling in a program to determine their English ability and therefore which class they should be placed in (higher, intermediate, lower). Progress exams are used throughout the year to monitor student's progress in the classroom and to give the student's pointers on what aspects of the language they need to improve on. Diagnostic exams are similar to placement tests although they are often more extensive; their purpose to gauge the level of English from a student before the course begins. Finally there are many different types of external exams out there for English, with some of their purposes being for fluency, business, migration to an English speaking country and more.
