This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 3 explores the advantages and drawbacks of various methodologies in language teaching. These methods include grammar-translation, audio-lingualism, presentation-practice-production (PPP), task-based learning, communicative language teaching, community language learning, the silent way, suggestopaedia, and the Lexical approach.
The teaching approach used in this TEFL course is 'ESA' - Engage, Study and Activate. This process employs techniques such as elicitation to involve learners in the process of developing their language skills. The concept of 'Straight Arrow', 'Boomerang', and 'Patchwork' pattern ESA lessons is also covered.
