This unit discusses teaching the productive skills of writing and speaking. It discusses accuracy based and fluency based activities. There are also useful ideas on how to encourage students to speak and to encourage student interaction, as well as guidelines for the additional aspects required for writing skills of handwriting, spelling and punctuation, and creative writing. The unit also discusses the use of games in the classroom, and the benefit of using them to motivate students and produce an element of fun. I again found the sample lesson plans very helpful. It was good having the difference between accuracy and fluency explained, and seeing the different kinds of activities which can be used for each. I think I'm not a very creative person when it comes to thinking of ideas for lesson plans, so having examples is very useful. I also like seeing that there are many ways of making lessons fun.
