In this unit I learnt about the qualities of 'good' teachers and learners, the various roles of the teacher, the major differences between adult and young learners, the six levels of language ability, and common reasons students are motivated to study English. What I found particularly useful was the break down of the different teacher roles and the levels of language ability. From personal experience, the section about the qualities of 'good' teachers and learners was accurate - I have seen those qualities in teachers and students I've interacted with. I have also had students express the very same reasons as stated in this unit for wanting to study English. As a high school teacher with limited experience teaching adults, I was interested to learn about major differences between adult and young learners. Overall I found this unit useful, interesting, relatable and relevant to my current experiences.
