This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Concise and clear Unit. I have identified that conditionals (zero, first, second, third, mixed) and reported speech are two topics that ESL learners tend to struggle with. The difficulty remains, on one hand, that we are not conscious of which conditional to use according to the situation; for instance, when being in the middle of a conversation and trying to have a word with a child, we commonly use the first conditional exclusively, without considering that it may be more appropiate to take advantage of the third or the mixed one, depending on the situation. Same case with the reported speech which allows us to increase our vocabulary consistenly and to practice, correct and learn from common mistakes such as misuse of personal, possesive and adjective pronouns. To sum up, in spite of the level of English we are teaching, these two topics, among others, are to be broken down to guarantee understanding.
