This unit covers teaching special groups such as beginners, business English learners or monolingual/multilingual students. Beginners are typically feared by teachers but these can be the best groups to teach because they can be eager to learn with a clean slate ready to soak in the new language. Business English learners require the most specific sort of lessons as these students really only want to focus on learning language that will be applicable to their needs. Many teachers will do a 'needs analysis' with business learners to gather what specific information and things they want to learn about to accomplish what they need and want. Monolingual classes can be a great group as well for teachers. This forces the students to interact in speaking only English as it might be their only common way to communicate with each other and each students can bring specific cultural knowledge from their backgrounds.
