In this unit I watched two videos of a teacher conducting a english lesson. The first video seemed to be an example of HOW NOT to conduct a lesson, examples being the attitude of the teacher was very serious and intimidating and not responding to questions and doubts students had. He made little or no effort to engage the students and the explanation of the tasks were not well explained causing a lot of confusion in between the students. In the second video the students were much more willing to participate as the teachers attitude changed immensely, more smiley, making efforts to learn the students names. The engage phase worked more efectively as he allowed the students to participate more and therefore they become more interested. There was also clearer instructions given for the tasks and usage of mimes allowed the students to work out things for themselves before being given the answer straight away.
