This units coverage on evaluation was a good indicator on how they are suppose to be done. When I was in school the tests that were given were a variety. Some of them were easy and others I was clueless. I tended to find the tests that encompassed what we learned in the week I did the best on. Other tests that were over longer periods of time were more difficult. Different tests have different purposes, a diagnostic test seems most appropriate to know what an instructor needs to cover to better help the student. With progress tests to see what they have retained and what needs to be reviewed. These tests while in school seem like a nuisance, but learning about their purposes gives me a better and broader perspective. In conclusion, testing and evaluations not only lets the instructor know where the student is at and knows but, lets the student know the progress they have made and what they need to work on.
