There are a number of ways to assess a student's language level such as: individual or whole-group tutorials, a student-directed questionnaire or different types of tests. A Placement Test is given to students at the beginning of a course to evaluate language ability and determine what level students are on. Progress Tests are given periodically to determine what students have learnt and what needs revision. Achievement Tests are given at the end of a course. Practice Tests help prepare students for external examinations.I found this unit very informative. I've been very excited to learn about the different ways I can keep a whole classroom involved in a lesson, and though obvious now, I had not considered how important seating arrangements and even my position in the class will be. I've also been worried about discipline so reading statements such as \"Focus on the behavior and not the student\" or \"Use the knowledge of your colleagues\" was very helpful because they are something that I think will be good to keep in mind when teaching.
