This unit seemed to have reminded me of the importance of teaching vocabulary, grammar and language function. The factors affecting the difficulty among students of grasping or learning new words, activities to reinforce their new learnings and how to practice trying to use these new words, were also well discussed. There was also an example of ESA structure applicable for vocabulary, grammar or language function lessons - which will serve as guide for teachers and later on could explore on the technique to use.This Unit talked about the need for teaching Speaking and Writing to your students. When teaching Speaking and Writing, there are two different methods that a teacher can use to help students learn. These methods include aiming for accuracy, which is making sure that the students are following a set of English prompts you have taught them. The other method is fluency, which is about using more creative exercises to make sure that the student can demonstrate an understanding of English in a different environment.
