Productive skills are speaking and writing. Among these two, writing is the most difficult in TEFL teaching. This is due to writing being usually delegated to homework which cannot be corrected on the spot and requires a great degree of accuracy (refers to accurate use of grammar, structure, and vocabulary). Speaking can be encouraged in all ESA phases with a multitude of different games with the aim to encourage fluency (which produces effectiveness and flow with the English). The teacher may face challenges in encouraging participation or generating interest in the topic for the student. Many tips of past lessons such as when to correct a student, how much a teacher should interfere, and others are useful to remember with teaching productive skills. It is important to expose the student to as many different works and activities that will encourage all productive skills equally as well as the receptive skills.
