This unit covers the importance of eye contact, gesture and voice within a classroom and what these expressions can bring. The pros and cons of grouping students are outlined and how different seating arrangements can change a classroom environment. The unit also provides how to effectively give instructions, establish a rapport and maintaining discipline within a classroom. From this unit, I have learnt how I can use my physical presence and voice in a classroom. Also, I understand the pros and cons for group and seating arrangements to which I can bring into the classroom depending on circumstances and the aim of the lesson. The unit has helped me understand how to effectively provide instructions to my students, establish rapport, maintain discipline and reduce unnecessary teacher talking time. When in a classroom environment, I will be able to handle any issues that occur and manage the classroom effectively.
