This unit is about the theoretical aspects of teaching a new language, by which I mean to say that it's about how to teach the three main blocks of which a language is constructed; vocabulary, grammatical structure and language functions. The text in this unit explains what the aspects are of each block that need to be included in your teaching. So for example if you want to teach new vocabulary then you need to make sure that you include in your teaching all aspects of the new word being taught. You will need to include; the meaning, the spelling, the pronunciation, the usage, the grammatical position of the word in the sentence and its interaction with the other words in the sentence. Besides explaining these aspects of all three theoretical blocks the unit also hands you some really good examples of the kind of activities you can use in each ESA teaching stage and it provides you with examples of lesson plans.
