Unit 12 introduces the second half of learning skills, the productive skills: speaking and writing. We learn again that these skills are equally as important to the students ability to fully understand the language. We also learn about the difference between accuracy and fluency and when to introduce both into the course of our ESA lessons. Unit 12 discussed different ways to get the most out of students when it comes to speaking and reading by using a mixture of controlled or guided activities along with creative communication. Some obstacles teachers might encounter is the lack of desire to speak in the classroom, which can be due to several factors some of which include: lack of confidence, lack of interest or fear of making a mistake. This unit gives you options to overcome all the obstacles it presents and provides functional example, as always, to utilize all the information in a practice lesson ESA lesson.
