This unit focuses on materials that can be used in the classroom and on lesson planning. Firstly, the difference between authentic and non-authentic materials is stated and the advantages of using each are listed. In particular, for non-authentic materials things to consider when designing the materials are also detailed. The unit then moves onto lesson planning: why creating it is important, what should go in it and how it should be used are the major points that are discussed. Further, an example of a lesson plan for young learners is provided. The use of course book, its pros and cons and how to make the best use of it are also topics covered in this unit. Subsequently, the issue of class management is discussed and tips on how to act in the classroom, together with things that should be avoided, are provided.
