This unit talks about the parts of speech which is very important in English Language, and at the same time very confusing due to the rules and exceptions that should be observed in certain cases.First of all, it talks about nouns, which names people, animals, places, things, qualities states. it also talks of the types which are common, proper, compound, abstract and collective, countable and uncountable. secondly it talks about adjectives which are used to describe nouns such as people and things. The two types of articles which are definite and indefinite. Verbs which is a doing word in a sentence. Adverbs which add meaning or information to an action.
Above all, what i have learnt in this unit is that,knowing this part of grammar will save the teacher from embarrassment from students. I have also observed that in as much as there are rules to be followed, there are also exceptions that do not respect the rules.
