This unit explores the many and various facilities and resources available to an English teacher. These include photocopier, whiteboard, overhead projector, and dvds. We learn about common mistakes made when using these items, and how to avoid these mistakes and get the most out of the equipment. For example when using a whiteboard it is important to adapt the size of writing to the class and number of students. Overusing capital letters is discouraged as capital letters can be harder to read. We also are reminded that students tend to note down everything on the board, so board work needs to be neat and concise.
We explore a number of other facilities before looking at some helpful websites.
From this unit I feel like I have learnt some helpful pointers and tips in order to effectively use all the available resources. By using a variety of resources lessons can be lively, varied and capture the students attention.
