This unit covers examination and evaluation of students made by teachers. While I know that in my particular situation I will not be working with students who are preparing for outside exams, given the informal nature of the community center at which I will be working, this unit reminded me that there are external exams that I can recommend to my students and that could help many of them who are immigrants, be more well prepared for entry into another country beyond their refugee camp. Another important component of this unit was the coverage of evaluation strategies that we can use to determine the placement, retention, and motivations of our students. I prefer the tutorial method for my specific situation because I cannot affect the placement of my students; however I foresee that the use of diagnostics tests will be great for me in order to design lesson plans that can be tailored to my specific student population.
