This unit covered the different types of evaluation and testing available and what they are used for. For example, students can be evaluated using tutorials and tests. The course can also be evaluated by the students which helps to determine whether the course is too easy or too hard. At the beginning of a course the students can be given placement and diagnostic tests to determine what english skills they already have and what level they are at. Throughout the course progress tests can be used to let the teachers and students know what needs more work. Practice tests are also very useful and important to help students prepare for external examinations. I have learnt the difference between the various forms of evaluation and when and how to use them. I have also learnt about the many different types of external examinations that students can take throughout their careers of learning and mastering the english language.
