This unit focused on two ESA demonstrations in a classroom setting. While watching the first video it was very clear that the teacher made many mistakes that negatively impacted the lesson students. His attitude from the very beginning was not positive and he continued to be condescending and not encouraging throughout the lesson. His students did not seem to be comfortable participating in the class due to his attitude. The contrast between the first and second video was very clear. During the second video the teacher entered the classroom and introduced himself and had a very positive attitude throughout the lesson. He explained what modal auxiliary verbs instead of just repeating it and was able to have his students comfortably participate because of his friendly approach. This unit made it very clear that the teacher’s attitude towards the class has a direct effect on the student's’ participation levels.
