In unit thirteen, the vast world of pronunciations and phonetics was explained. I believe I learned the most in this unit as it had very detailed explanations and it's a topic native English-speakers rarely explore. This unit focused on intonation, stress, and rhythm of speaking. I've learned how much of an impact intonation and stress has on a sentence and how it can change the mood and meaning of it. The international phonetic alphabet was also introduced which will be helpful for future lessons as it standardizes pronunciation of letters and words. The most helpful information was the diagrams for articulation of specific sounds. What I liked most about this topic was how each unique sound can be explained and practiced using a specific drawing of the placement of the lips, tongue, etc. This unit also provided a wide variety of teaching techniques for stress, intonation, and pronunciation which will be very helpful.
