This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 14 focused on coursebooks and lesson materials. This chapter discussed the pros and cons of course books and using other sources of materials in the classroom. When selecting course books it is important to take many factors into consideration such as: price, availability, design, methodology, difficulty, and more. It is more complex to select which authentic materials could be introduced and used to the classroom since authentic material is not created for EFL students. When choosing authentic material, teachers must decide what the tasks students will be completing with that material. Created material is produced by teachers to replace or supplement material from course books. After reading this chapter I believe it is important for teachers to make use of created material in addition to course books since created material can be catered to a specific group of students and can be more interesting for the students.
