This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The notes and video in unit 9 helped me to better understand teaching special groups. I learned that by 'special groups' it refers to (as I understand it) beginners, absolute beginners, false beginners, adult beginners, young adult beginners, and beginners without the Roman alphabet. The group that I will be teaching will decide how I will set up my class and what lessons that I will choose to teach. At first, I was really surprised that it was a misconception that I would need to understand the business field to be able to teach business English. Although as I completed the lesson notes and video I guess that English is just that no matter in what field of work you use the language. The ESA lessons are still a little tricky and I find myself getting really frustrated or even upset because while I understand what the goals are for each (engage, study, activate) are, I still sometimes get the acceptable activities mixed up.
